Meet Kelli

I’d love to tell you a little about myself! My husband and I live in my hometown where we met in high school, and we have been married since 1995. We have two young adult children who are branching out and finding their own paths in life, and it is such a joy to see them succeed.  My parents, siblings, and inlaws all live within 15 minutes, and we are a very tight bunch, regularly vacationing and camping together- the group can be as big as 30 or more at times!

I knew I was going to be a teacher since I was a young child. Helping someone to understand new concepts and grow in their knowledge and self-confidence is not only my passion but my lifeblood! I taught kindergarten for over 20 years, then retired to focus on my physical health after a successful battle against breast cancer. It was during this hiatus from public school teaching that I took a step out of my comfort zone and in 2019 pursued becoming a Certified Zentangle Teacher. I was already familiar with this method of drawing and had taken several classes with a local artist, and when the opportunity opened to become a CZT myself, I jumped at it!

Since then I have held hundreds of classes, both in person and online, and have created multiple different video series using the Zentangle method of drawing. I am enthusiastic about teaching the Zentangle principles to both children and adults because the peaceful concepts are perfect for every age to learn- gratitude, comfort, and joy in your creations!

I have returned to the school classroom part-time and I love filling my day with as much activity as possible. I look forward to having the evenings to relax and sit in my art studio to refocus and recenter my heart and mind with a Zentangle drawing. Sharing my gifts of teaching and artistry is my passion and I hope you’ll enjoy tangling with me!
